Estimated ad revenue equals (views / 1,000) × assumed RPM. This YouTube revenue calculator returns a planning range, not a payout. Change views, niche, format, and geography to see the range move. A connected channel replaces assumptions with authenticated owner data from YouTube Analytics.

The model varies estimated ad revenue by niche, format, and broad audience geography. It is narrower than YouTube’s own RPM, which also includes channel memberships, YouTube Premium, Super Chat, and Super Stickers. Sponsorships, taxes, and off-platform income are excluded too.
A YouTube revenue calculator estimates earnings with a simple planning formula: estimated ad revenue equals (views / 1,000) × assumed RPM. Assumed RPM is an input you choose, not a fact about your channel. This calculator does not ask you to type RPM directly. It uses the niche RPM presets already in the tool, then applies the live format and geography multipliers.
The live defaults are 100,000 monthly views, the Education preset (RPM $2.50– $10.00, typical $5.50), long-form video, and a mixed global audience. Those RPM figures are planning presets in this calculator. They are not authenticated RPM and not a claimed industry average.
| Input | What it changes |
|---|---|
| Monthly views | Sets the scale of the estimate. |
| Niche | Selects this calculator's planning RPM band. |
| Format and geography | Adjusts for Shorts versus long-form and higher- or lower-value audience markets. |
YouTube Help defines RPM as a creator-focused metric: revenue per 1,000 views after YouTube's revenue share, including ads, YouTube Premium, channel memberships, Super Chat, and Super Stickers. CPM is advertiser-focused: the cost per 1,000 ad impressions before revenue share. RPM is usually lower than CPM because it includes views that were not monetized. For isolated CPM or RPM math, use the CPM calculator and the RPM calculator. For definitions, see YouTube RPM vs CPM and how YouTube CPM differs from RPM.
This calculator cannot see your audience geography in detail, the share of views that were monetized playbacks, advertiser demand that week, seasonality, or whether brand deals and merch changed total income. Sponsorships, taxes, memberships beyond the estimate, and off-platform income are out of scope.
YouTube Help is explicit that RPM does not tell the full revenue story. It cannot show which revenue source caused a swing. Two channels with the same views can earn very different amounts. Treat every output as a range for planning. Do not treat it as a guaranteed payout.
Public YouTube money calculators, including Social Blade-style estimators, apply averaged assumptions to public view counts. That can be useful for curiosity and rough scale. It is a weak basis for payroll or pricing a brand deal. We explain that gap in How Accurate Are Social Blade Revenue Estimates?.
| Source | What it can see | Best use |
|---|---|---|
| This calculator | Views plus labeled RPM assumptions | Planning range |
| Social Blade-style estimate | Public views plus averaged assumptions | Curiosity / public benchmark |
| YouTube Studio / TubeAnalytics | Authenticated channel revenue | Real RPM decisions |
Authenticated RPM is the figure YouTube Analytics shows for a channel you own. Check it with the Real RPM Checker after you connect a channel, or analyze your channel's actual revenue. Every paid plan includes a 7-day free trial. There is no permanent free plan.
YouTube publishes no official benchmark revenue figures by niche or by country. The ranges below are this calculator's own directional assumptions, shown so you can judge the output rather than take it on trust. They are scenario inputs, not measured rates.
